Although the MCO is over and workers have started getting jobs, it is sad that some are still in need of food aid. The long lockdown led people, especially foreigners, to survive on borrowings to pay for rent and other necessities.
Factory workers in Balakong, Cheras, appealed for food aid from Free Food Society through one of our partners, BAC group. All the workers are in the B20 and B40 income brackets, mainly Malaysian, Nepalese and Bangladeshi.
On the 15th of December 2022, FFS sent 200 food packs to the community in response to their appeal. The recipients expressed their gratitude to FFS and said the food items made a big difference to them. We deeply thank our donors and volunteers for helping us to distribute the food to the victims.
